Buildup Progress : Enter...1997 Lexus LX450 with 110K miles. Exit...1997 Lexus LX450 with 5" front and 4.5" rear suspension lift. It's basically a Slee 4 or 6" kit but with OME J-springs (850J/863J) substituted for Slee's. The Slee springs were 25% stiffer and considering this truck will be unloaded I opted for the softer OME J's. The frame was cut (F&R) and custom bumpers were fitted (F&R) in order to shorten the truck so it can accomplish some things the "typical" or "loaded" 80 cannot (ARB, Kaymar, Slee bumpers, etc. They add weight and length and therefore lessen approach and departure angles). Slee sliders were fitted. ARB lockers and 4.88 gears added. Throw in a few more goodies and it's a completed "rock-crawler" 80-series/LX....UPDATE: Lexus was re-lifted to the 6" mark using Slee springs and front control arms. See pages 6 and 7.
